The ramp of a high speed vessel is lowered to allow gear and personnel off at Olongapo City, Zambales, Republic of the Philippines Oct. 1 during Amphibious Exercise 2014. The ship traveled from Okinawa to the Philippines to deliver the Marines and equipment to participate in the exercise. PHIBLEX 14 is a bilateral training exercise designed to improve interoperability, increase readiness, and enhance the ability for a bilateral force to respond to natural disasters or other regional contingencies.
