KHAWR AL AMAYA OIL TERMINAL, North Arabian Gulf -- USS Chosin (CG 65) Sailors, aboard a rigid hull inflatable boat, deliver the next "meals on keels" to members of the Norfolk, Va.-based Mobile Security Detachment 25, assigned to protect the Iraqi Khawr Al Amaya oil terminal. Chosin provides fresh cooked meals three times a day for the U.S. Navy security detachments aboard both Khawr Al Amaya and Al Basrah oil terminals. Chosin, homeported in Hawaii, is currently deployed to the region to conduct maritime security operations (MSO). MSO set the conditions for security and stability in the maritime environment as well as complement the counter-terrorism and security efforts of regional nations. MSO deny international terrorists use of the maritime environment as a venue for attack or to transport personnel, weapons, or other material.
