Marines enter the underground tunnel Oct. 31 at Camp Naha. The Japanese forces used the tunnels during World War II to defend the island of Okinawa against the invasion by American troops. The tour was part of a visit from Marine Aircraft Group 36 Marines to familiarize themselves with the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force personnel and their camp. The Marines are with Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Natalie M. Rostran/ Released)
