Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus delivers remarks during the inaugural Bob Feller Act of Valor Awards. Feller, a member of the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame, was the first Major League Baseball player to enlist in the military after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941. The Feller award will go each year to a Baseball Hall of Famer, a current player and a member of the U.S. Navy candidates will be judged on character, conduct and how they assist those less fortunate than themselves.
