Sgt. David Brocato, crew chief, Company C, 3rd Battalion, 4th Aviation Regiment, Combat Avn. Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division - Baghdad, mans the gunner's seat of a Black Hawk helicopter before the start of a mission on Camp Taji, July 20. With more than 1,000 flight hours under his belt, Brocato's responsibilities range from in-flight instructor to performing critical fixes on the aircraft during missions. He is also considered the 'eyes of the aircraft,' and is required to help the pilots maneuver the helicopter in and out of tight areas as well as watch for threats from the sky.
