Philippine Air Force Sgt. Dons Geronimo, a landing support specialist with the 520th Air Base Wing, guides a U.S. Marine Corps MV-22B Osprey as it prepares to take off with personnel and supplies from Villamor Air Base as part of Operation Damayan, Nov. 14. Operation Damayan is part of a U.S. Government effort to support the Government of the Philippines' request for humanitarian assistance. This joint team effort includes coordination among several agencies, including the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Agency for International Development, in constant consultation with Philippine authorities. The militaries of the two nations have partnered and trained together for decades, preparing both forces with the challenges associated with extreme circumstances.
