Marines and Sailors with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Crisis Response conducted a joint formation run, with members of the Air Force's 496th Air Base Squadron, to celebrate the 238th Marine Corps Birthday at Morón Air Base, Spain, Nov. 12, 2013. The commemorative 3 mile run was the culmination of 238 miles ran by members of the SPMAGTF in the days prior to the run. The run also marked the first time the Marine Corps held an official birthday celebration aboard the air base, and the first time the unit colors were unfurled. SPMAGTF-Crisis Response is a self-mobile, self-sustaining force capable of responding to a range of crises to protect both U.S. and partner-nation security interests in the region, while also strengthening partnerships throughout the U.S. European Command and U.S. Africa Command area of responsibility.
