    U.S. Armed Forces Network broadcaster Airman 1st Class Ashley Powell conducts an audio check prior to interviewing Royal New Zealand Air Force Air Commodore Mike Yardley, the Joint Forces Air Component commander for exercises Southern Katipo and Kiwi Flag, Nov. 8 at RNZAF Base Ohakea, New Zealand. Powell and Yardley just returned from a New Zealand media flight aboard a New Zealand C-130 Hercules to kick off the start of Exercise Kiwi Flag. Powell is a broadcast producer from the Regional Media Bureau-Japan, AFN Pacific. Kiwi Flag is a multilateral RNZAF-sponsored tactical airlift exercise conducted in New Zealand. Air assets from U.S. Air Force, RNZAF, Royal Australian Air Force, Republic of Singapore Air Force, and French Armed Forces of New Caledonia are participating. Air operations will be conducted out of RNZAF Base Ohakea, New Zealand. KF provides air support to Exercise Southern Katipo, New Zealand Defence Force's largest multilateral joint force amphibious exercise with eight other nations participating: United States Army and Marines, Australia, Canada, France, Malaysia, Singapore, Papua New Guinea and Tonga.
