Wake County sheriff's deputies perform a search and evacuation for a notional officer down call during collaborative training by multiple units at Fort Bragg Nov. 18. The Fort Bragg Special Reaction Team hosts North Carolina sheriffs and police departments special reaction and tactical training exercise. The teams practice rappelling from a multi-story structure, respond to a notional officer down call, operate in a smoky or chemical environment performing search and rescue, and serve a search warrant at an apartment complex in a joint-team scenario. The military operations on urban terrain range here provides similar structures to those encountered by law enforcement officers. This is the second year the North Carolina Tactical Officer Association has held SRT training at Fort Bragg.
