U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Paul H. McGillicuddy greets the Sultan of Brunei Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah as they begin tours of the U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III, Marine MV-22B Osprey and KC-130J Super Hercules aircraft Dec. 3 at Rimba Air Base, Brunei, during the 4th Biennial Brunei Darussalam International Defense Exhibition and Conference. The five-day event includes displays and demonstrations of military equipment, with the theme of bridging the capability gap. BRIDEX 13 is an opportunity for communication and cooperation with regional partners and allies, builds strong multilateral relationships and enhances preparedness for disasters and other contingency operations. U.S. participation in BRIDEX 13 demonstrates cooperative engagement with Brunei and continued commitment to regional security and stability in the Asia-Pacific region.
