An U.S. Air Force illustration of Furious Moose 2013, a large formation exercise, highlights Joint Base Charleston's ability to coordinate a large formation flight of C-17 Globemaster IIIs, April 10, 2013. Thirteen C-17s flew during the exercise, which included airdrops, aerial refueling and low-level tactical training. The LFE is a total-force effort with aircrews consisting of active-duty Airmen from the 437th Airlift Wing and Reservists from the 315th Airlift Wing, and is the first such exercise performed since 2010.
