The Flat Stanley Project is an educational project that aids children in creative writing using a “flat” book character named Flat Stanley who is sent through the mail around the world. New Orleans is part of the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
