Petty Officer 3rd Class Cory Wisecup, from Coast Guard Station Sturgeon Bay, Wis., slowly makes his way across a thin layer of ice as he works his way toward a dog that had fallen through the ice after it reportedly chased a goose across the Sturgeon Bay Canal, Dec. 8, 2013. Wisecup was able to rescue the dog and turned it over to veterinarians who slowly increased its body temperature and observed it for 10 hours before returning it to its owner.
