CHARLESTON, S. C. (May 2001)-- Coast Guard Petty Officer 1st class Anthony Wescott displays one of the newest decorations for safety. He was one of the first Coast Guardsman to receive the new marine safety insignia. The qualifications to earn the insignia require an individual to earn at least four marine safety qualifications and serve for four years at an operational marine safety unit.
