Darmstadt Lord Mayor Walter Hoffmann and the commander of U.S. Army Garrison Darmstadt, Lt. Col. David Astin, embrace after Hoffman presented Astin with a special going-away gift, a miniature reproduction of the city's "Heiner" statue. "Heiner" is the nickname by which people from Darmstadt call each other. Present (from left) are Col. Robert Ulses, commander of U.S. Army Garrison Baden-Wurttemberg, and USAG Darmstadt Command Sgt. Maj. Harold Littlejohn. The presentation was part of USAG Darmstadt inactivation ceremonies Aug. 6, 2008, in Germany.
