JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Sept. 29, 2004)--Members of Coast Guard Law Enforcement Detachment 406 based out of Miami, off load more than 3,500 pounds of cocaine off the USS John L. Hall, Sept. 29, 2004. The drugs were confiscated off the coast of the Galapagos Islands in the Eastern Pacific Ocean by crewmembers of LEDET 403, USS Hall and Navy Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light 46, Det. 5. These drugs are part of a record breaking year, which help cap the amount of drugs intercepted by the Coast Guard and its law enforcement partners totaling 240,518 pounds of cocaine this year.
