CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Seaman Darnell Talbert, a Coast Guard Reservist from Detroit, Mich., fires the Remington 870 12-gauge police shotgun during the Practical Riot Shotgun Course. Talbert is a part of the Coast Guard's first Maritime Enforcement Specialist class held at the Maritime Law Enforcement Academy in Charleston, S.C. Maritime Enforcement Specialists are a new job rating and receive over nine weeks of training in maritime law enforcement, anti-terrorism, force protection and physical security.
