KEY WEST, Fla. - The 96-foot vessel Richard L. Becker will provide real-time surface monitoring in the area of the Loop Current and its associated eddy off the west coast of the Florida Peninsula Sunday June 13, 2010. Under the direction of the Florida Peninsula Command's Environmental Unit, this advance scouting vessel will travel across a broad region of the central Gulf of Mexico to aggressively monitor for the presence of oil.
