(Jan. 26, 2004)--Personnel from Coast Guard Cutter Gannett, Station Fort Lauderdale, Air Station Miami and Maritime Safety and Security Team 91108 provide security to the arrival of the World's newest and largest cruise ship, Queen Mary 2, as it arrives at its first port call the the continental U.S. As the lead federal agency for maritime homeland security, the Coast Guard has overseen the robust and effective security operations for the QM2's high-profile arrivals in St. Thomas, USVI, Fort Lauderdale and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
