Although the AH-64D Apache helicopter's engines are loud as it comes in to land, onlookers could almost hear the glee and excitement coming from the Soldier sitting in the front seat. In this rare event, troopers of the 1st "Attack" Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, had the chance to take a ride in the front seat of an Apache at Robert Gray Army Air Field, Fort Hood, Texas, Aug. 26, 2008.
