Local Bremerton citizens watch as the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk enters Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in preparation for its decommissioning January 2009, completing 47 years of active service. Kitty Hawk has been the only aircraft carrier operating permanently from Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Japan, for the last decade.
