Petty Officer 2nd Class Justin Rizzo, surgical technologist attached to Combat Logistics Regiment 1 from Bravo Surgical Company, 1st Medical Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, treats a simulated amputation as part of a drill in the Forward Resuscitative Surgical System during Exercise Steel Knight 2014 aboard Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Training Center Twentynine Palms, Calif., Dec. 13. During the exercise, sailors with 1st Med. Bn. set up a Shock Trauma Platoon and a FRSS to treat simulated casualties. These facilities provide patients with medical attention that will enable them to move to the next line of care in a more stable condition.
