After a routine exchange with local fishermen, Petty Officer 2nd Class Duron Aldrege watches the mariners depart while aboard a rigid hull inflatable boat assigned to USS Thach. Thach is conducting routine interaction patrols in cooperation with Combined Task Force 152 in the Persian Gulf. Interaction patrols are an element of maritime security operations to help generate support and awareness amongst commercial vessels so that commercial shipping and fishing can occur safely in the region.
