Dutch and American paratroopers joined forces for airborne operations on Sicily Drop Zone, Jan. 9. A total of 220 soldiers from the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, and the Royal Netherlands Army 11th Airmobile Brigade jumped from the All American Division’s CH-47 Chinook helicopters. The American troops earned foreign jump wings, as they were ushered out of the aircraft by a Dutch jumpmaster. In turn, an American jumpmaster guided the Dutch troops off the back ramp. The mission was part of the All American Division’s interoperability training with the Dutch forces. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. April Campbell, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade Public Affairs)
