Chief petty officer (CPO) selectees from Naval Station Newport, R.I., visit the Bunker Hill monument during their walk along Boston’s Freedom Trail on Aug. 17, 2010. The 221-foot monument stands on Breed’s Hill, the site of the first major battle of the American Revolution fought June 17, 1775. Col. William Prescott gave the order “"Don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes" on this site. Selectees took turns narrating the many historical sites like Bunker Hill during their history and heritage day in Boston. (U.S. Navy photo by Senior Chief Mass Communication Specialist Melissa F.
