An RQ7 “Shadow” Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS), colorfully named “Tundra Wookie,” maintained and operated by Paratroopers with Bravo Company, 425th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, sits in a maintenance bay Jan. 30, 2014, at Forward Operating Base Sparta at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. The UAS has the capability to cover vast distances of territory and can stay aloft for several hours at a time, all the while sending real-time, important battlefield information back to commanders.
