Capt. John M. Yunker, Jr. prepares for flight during Forward Air Controller (Airborne) training at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point Jan. 15. The training gives pilots with Marine Attack Squadron 223, attached to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 263 (Reinforced), the ability to direct close air support missions while in flight. Yunker is an AV-8B Harrier pilot with VMA-223.
