JoEllen Kassebaum, a botanist with the installation, works in the garden outside of the environmental office aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., Jan. 29. Kassebaum helped see to the approval and development of the garden where she tends plants in differing micro climates. This allows her to see how plants interact with each other in certain settings while giving Marines, families and guests a chance to see and learn about these precious plants.
