KARACHI, Pakistan (Oct. 24, 2005) A U.S. Navy chief petty officer (left) assigned to the dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52) guides a Pakistani forklift operator as he transports a load of relief supplies on the pier in Karachi, Pakistan. Pearl Harbor carried 140 tons of relief supplies to Karachi in support of Pakistan's relief effort in the northern part of that country. The United States is participating in a multinational assistance and support effort led by the Pakistani government to bring aid to the victims of the devastating earthquake that struck Pakistan on Oct. 8.
