Sailors from Navy Cargo Handling Battalion (NCHB) 1 begin unloading the MAERSK Illinois in support of Operation Deep Freeze (ODF). Alongside joint forces, ODF is conducted in support of the National Science Foundation (NSF) mission of scientific research. NCHB 1 has worked with NSF unloading critical supplies for more than 50 years ensuring scientific research can continue forward on the continent.
