The United Kingdom’s Distinguished Flying Cross is a military award presented for acts of valor, courage and devotion to duty while flying in combat operations. Capt. Brian Jordan, a UH-1Y Venom pilot, is the second Marine aviator to earn the medal since World War II. He was honored for his actions on June 21, 2012, while deployed in Afghanistan.
