First Lt. Walter Mack, executive officer, Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, is completing his final predeployment training before a combat deployment to Afghanistan. Mack, a native of New York City, was a platoon commander with India Co., 3rd Bn., 4th Marines during his last deployment to Afghanistan in 2013.
