U.S. Marine 1st Lt. Pete Hofinga explains the weapons safety rules to Royal Thai and U.S. Marines Feb. 11 at Ban Chan Krem, Kingdom of Thailand during Exercise Cobra Gold 2014. “We used today to gauge the proficiency level of the Thai Marines,” said Hofinga. “They are very proficient and that is a plus for us going forward.” Hofinga and the Marines are with Company L, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, currently assigned to 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force under the unit deployment program.
