Warrant Officer Randy Jones, officer in charge of the 489th woodshop operations and Asheville, N.C native teaches efficient and safe woodworking techniques to Spc. Christopher Fussell, a horizontal construction engineer with the 124th Engineer Company and Macon, Ga. Native. Jones and his Soldiers craft works of art in the 489th Engineer Battalions’ woodshop at Kandahar Air Field, Afghanistan Feb. 15, 2014. The wood shop is one of few, if not the only, Army woodshop in Afghanistan. The Soldiers working here make beautiful products with limited building materials for customers throughout Afghanistan. Jones has a construction business and has taught shop to high school students for more than 18 years in the S.C. school system.
