U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Jeff W. Mathis III, commander, Joint Task Force Civil Support, presents coins to airmen of the 633rd Logistics Readiness Squadron during his visit to Joint Base Langley-Eustis here Feb. 26, 2014. Mathis presented commander coins to show his appreciation to the squadron for providing assistance during a recent JTF-CS no-notice deployment readiness exercise (DRE). Internal exercises, such as DREs, ensure the unit’s preparedness to support local first responders in the event of a man-made or a natural disaster in the United States. JTF-CS anticipates, plans, and prepares for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense Support of Civil Authorities (CBRN-DSCA) response operations.
