KARACHI, Pakistan- Seaman Patrick Foley unhooks a piece of heavy equipment from USS Pearl Harbor's crane after it was hoisted onto the pier Oct. 29. Pearl Harbor delivered 16 pieces of heavy equipment to aid in the relief effort in the earthquake-affected northern part of the
country. This was Pearl Harbor's third delivery of relief supplies to Karachi, having delivered 13 pieces of heavy machinery Oct. 18 and 140 tons of water, milk, diapers and blankets Oct. 24. The United States is participating in a multi-national assistance and support effort led by the Pakistani Government to bring aid to the victims of the devastating earthquake that struck the region on Oct. 8.
