U.S. Marines assigned to the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit and Sailors assigned to the amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19) load boxes of food and supplies onto the ship as it refuels at Naval Station Rota, Spain, Feb. 24, 2014, while other Marines with the expeditionary unit leave the ship to participate in a Spanish amphibious landing exercise. The Sailors and Marines were supporting security efforts and providing crisis response capability in the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility.
