(Left-right) Anne Ritchie Waring, age 89, shares a Kodak moment with her two daughters, Betty Grey Waring and Anne Frost Waring, during a recent family wedding. The Warings are known for their double names. “All my family has double first names,” Betty Grey said. “Most Southern parents back then would name their children after a relative, a grandparent or whatever. After recently talking to my mom, she said oftentimes families would end up with multiple Annes, Johns, Georges, etc. By combining first and middle names, it was easier for families to distinguish each another.”
