Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Handling) 3rd Class Jesse Serrano, from Compton, Calif., signals an MV-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft, assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) (Reinforced) 265, as it takes off from the flight deck of the forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6). Bonhomme Richard is the flag ship of the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 31st MEU, is currently conducting joint force operations in the U.S. 7th Fleet Area of Responsibility.
