Soldiers with 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), conduct close-combat attack (CCA) training March 4, 2014, at the Oberdachstetten Local Training Area. These forward observers from throughout the battalion practiced identifying targets from concealed positions and relaying target information to AH-64D Apache Longbow helicopter crews from 3-159th Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, 12th Combat Aviation Brigade. This air-to-ground integration training is being conducted in preparation for an upcoming Joint Multinational Readiness Center (JMRC) Mission Rehearsal Exercise (MRE). The Oberdachstetten LTA is just one of the many LTAs operated by the Training Support Activity Europe to provide both U.S. Army Europe and partner-nation troops with the ability to perform rigorous, realistic and relevant home-station training that enhances their combat readiness.
