Governor Pat McCrory signed the official proclamation deeming March as North Carolina National Guard’s Heritage Month at Joint Force Headquarters on March 6, 2014. On March 24th, 1663 the Carolina Charter granted the right to “… levy, muster and train men …” for 351 years in order to defend the property and peoples of the Carolinas. Gov. McCrory also shook the hands of Soldiers while thanking them for their service.
