The demolition of building 28, the former home of the Maxwell Community Library on East Kirkpatrick Avenue, begins Dec. 6, 2011. The refurbished and technologically improved library has been relocated to building 910 on Shumacher Avenue. Col. Brian Killough, 42nd Air Base Wing commander, enjoyed the privilege of taking the first swing with a sledgehammer and the first stab with a bulldozer. (U.S. Air Force photo by Wendy Simonds/released)
