An MV-22 Osprey aircraft takes off from the USS Bataan (LHD 5) to transport U.S. Marines and U.S. Navy Sailors with Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), to Greece for a bilateral exercise with the Hellenic Army March 7, 2014. The U.S. and Greece regularly conduct scheduled military exercises to strengthen professional and personal relationships. The MEU is deployed to the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group as a sea-based, expeditionary crisis response force capable of conducting amphibious missions across the full range of military operations.
