Staff Sgt. Kenita Bauerle, left, and Capt. Ronald Painter, right, both from the 327th Military Police Battalion, 200th MP Command, located in Arlington Heights, Ill., - 25 miles northwest of Chicago - meet the 9th district Congresswoman, Jan Schakowsky, center, for an informational meeting discussing their unit’s and the Army Reserve’s unique capabilities.
Painter discussed his unit’s lineage that dated back to World War I and his unit’s recent efforts during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He additionally pointed out that Army Reserve soldiers have regular jobs and careers, but when asked, they put their lives on hold and move forward with their mission.
The purpose for the meeting was to bring awareness of potential local assets in the event of natural disasters, and to bring a deeper understanding and value for local Army Reserve units amongst their communities and the total Army.
