Marine Air Control Squadron 1 commanding officer, Lt. Col. Jeff Kojac, hands a Certificate of Completion to Chicago native Petty Officer 1st Class Jose Diaz, an air traffic controller with MACS-1, for earning a Fleet Marine Force Warfare Specialist badge Sept. 2, 2008 during a ceremony at the base air traffic control tower. Five controllers, in addition to Diaz, earned their FMF badge, during their deployment with MACS-1, 3rd MAW (Fwd.). "I am very proud of the hard work and time the sailors put in to earning something that isn't required for their job," said Kojac.
