Retired Army Reserve Maj. John A. Perry, speaks on the integration of women into the Army Reserve to a crowd of soldiers and civilians during a special Women’s History Presentation on Fort McCoy, March 24. Perry was a member of the 88th Army Reserve Command in 1974 when they assembled a platoon of 30 female recruits who gave visibility to the new wave of female citizen-soldiers and helped foster their acceptance, appreciation and respect within the ranks.
