Master Sgt. Gerald Davis and Staff Sgt. Mesa Anderson identify unserviceable munitions before disposing of them through a controlled detonation at Joint Base Balad, Iraq, Oct. 8, 2008. The numbers and types of munitions are carefully monitored to ensure no ordnance is left on the range. Both Airmen are assigned to the 332nd Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron Explosive Ordnance Disposal team. Davis, the EOD team leader, is deployed from Patrick Air Force Base, Fla. His hometown is Springfield, Ohio. Anderson, an EOD technician, is deployed from Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. Her hometown is Montrose, Calif.
