Sgt. 1st Class James Brasher was awarded a Silver Star on Oct. 9, 2008, by 82nd Airborne Division commanding general, Maj. Gen. Curtis M. Scaparrotti, at the 82nd Abn. Div. War Memorial Museum. Brasher received the award for his courageous leadership Dec. 8, 2007, at Musa Qal'eh in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
