Vice Adm. Mel Williams Jr., commander, U.S. Second Fleet, renders a salute to sideboys aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Nassau following an awards ceremony on the flight deck on Oct. 11, 2008. The ceremony recognized Sailors for their humanitarian relief efforts in Galveston, Texas, after Hurricane Ike. Nassau is pierside in New York participating in the 100th anniversary of the Great White Fleet festivities and Columbus Day celebrations.
