The Coast Guard’s Barque Eagle (WIX-327) rests in the dock of the Morehead City port March 28, 2014. The Eagle, built in 1936, is a training ship used by the Coast Guard Academy for instructing and honing the leadership skills of officer candidates and crew members. While at the academy, officer candidates spend anywhere from a week on the Eagle to two months at sea.
